Finished Lab 5 and continued improving the robot’s navigation capabilities for lab 6.
Sohrab - Developed a UI feature to save named poses on the map and command the robot to return to those saved locations through the interface.
Iman - Ordered the final version of the arm-support frame and mounted the ArUco marker in the correct position to improve alignment during sensor application.
Eric - Conducted user interviews with Lindsay (a research nurse specializing in diabetes care) and An (an 82-year-old diabetic patient). Gathered valuable feedback on usability, comfort, and how the system could help reduce nursing workload and improve patient independence.
An - An 82- year-old diabetic patient with limited dexterity and vision impairments.
“This seems very helpful. I think it would really make a difference for me and my daughter, who helps take care of me most of the time. It could take some of the pressure off her and make things a bit easier for both of us.”
Lindsay: A diabetes research nurse with extensive experience in elderly patient care.
Lindsay highlighted the importance of the robot’s ability to adapt to patients with limited mobility.
