ProQuest is a database platform produced by ProQuest (the name of the platform is the same as the name of the company). The platform hosts databases produced by ProQuest as well as databases produced by other companies. NOVA Libraries subscribe to 17 databases on this platform.
The videos below explain how to use the ProQuest platform. For written information about using the ProQuest platform, visit the ProQuest Platform LibGuide page. You can also find written information by clicking on the Help and Support icon in the top right corner of any ProQuest webpage. The icon is a question mark inside a circle. When you click on the icon, a drop-down menu appears. On the menu, click on the first heading: ProQuest Help.
You can search any, or all, of the databases on the ProQuest platform at the same time. This is useful when you don't find what you're looking for in a single database.
To search any, or all, of the databases on the ProQuest platform at the same time, follow these instructions:
Go to the NOVA Libraries' subscription to ProQuest.
Click on the Change Databases link located in a gray rectangle near the top of the page. A list of databases will appear.
To select all of the databases on the list, click in the checkbox labeled Select all. To select individual databases, click in the checkbox next to the database's name.
When you've finished selecting databases to search, click on the Use selected databases button. This will take you to the search page where you can conduct your search.
