Ravenscroft Senior British National League Report Weekend 2 2018/19 Season

Guernsey’s leading British National League table tennis team have returned from another tough weekend of action from the strong Championship Division. The Ravenscroft side came out on the wrong side of all of their encounters contested at the Corby Smash table tennis centre in Northamptonshire and currently reside at the foot of the 10 team table. Joshua Stacey, Lawrence Stacey, Ben Foss and Dan Collenette came closest in their encounters with Portsmouth and Nottingham Sycamore I, but still fell to 6-2 reverses. Nottingham Sycamore are 2nd in the Division and Joshua Stacey earned his first win of the campaign with an excellent 4 set win over the English number 40 Joseph Clark. Lawrence Stacey earned an even better win during the encounter with Wymondham as he overcame England number 36 Naphat Boonyaprapa over 4 sets.                                                                                                                                                          Ben Foss picked up 2 wins over the weekend                                             Ben Foss saved his best for the encounter against Portsmouth where he went unbeaten and earned the player of the match accolade. He earned a straightforward straight sets win over Jacob Goss, but his 4 set win over Adeoye Adewale was a superb win. Adewale’s equivalent ranking in England would be around 33, making it Foss’ best win to date this season. Dan Collenette also performed well during his step-up to the first team. He came closest to picking up a win during his narrow 5 set loss to England number 68 Sam Wilson.

There is short time for rest as the next action takes place on 13th and 14th October, where the second string will also return to action.
