The GTTA Junior Group Singles tournament saw some subtle changes for the 2020 edition and attracted a healthy entry of players from across the different junior coaching groups. The age range spanned from 7 to 17 years old on a busy Saturday afternoon of action at the Table Tennis Centre.

It was 14-year old Jayden Tucknott who claimed the title for the second year in a row with an excellent victory over the experienced Jonah Ingrouille in the final, 14-12, 11-7.  Both players came through tough semi-finals with Ingrouille fighting back from one game down to defeat Erin Vaudin 2-1, while Tucknott beat Robert Naftel in two deuce games.

Another alteration was the addition of a plate competition to increase the number of matches for those players who did not progress through the group stage.  This provided a good opportunity for new players to gain more match experience and was won by the improving under-11 Alex Hutchinson, who overcame Albie Lihou 11-4, 11-4.
