Multifunctional Metasurfaces

Metasurfaces are the planarized bulky metamaterials with artificially designed meta-atoms that are elegantly arranged to allow the powerful control over the wave's properties. The exotic physics such as generalized Snell's laws [1] and promising applications spanning from the lensing, holograms, color printing, bio-imaging to quantum photon source can be found in metasurface. In this researches, we are aiming and have achieved to design the multifunctional metasurfaces for information technology such as

  • nanoscale point cloud generators (for face and pattern recognition) for potential big data collection [2];

  • nanoscale cryptographic printing (such as encrypted QR codes) [3];

  • kaleidoscopic metaphotonic multiplexers for multiple degree of freedom including spin, orbit angular momentum, spatial radiation channels [4,5,6];

  • Janus meta-hologram (two-face dual holographic images) [7];

  • photonic spin-Hall metalens [8].
