Openings
Dr. Guangwei Hu is affiliated in School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (EEE, NTU) as an Assistant Professor. Hu's group will primarily focus on theory and applications of nanophotonics in low-dimensional quantum materials, optical crystals, photonic crystals, metamaterials/metasurfaces and others.
Now, our group has multiple openings of fully sponsored PhD scholarships and Postdoctoral scholars. We would also host the visitors at all levels from interns, students, scholars, professors and others, and try the best we can to accommodate their visiting in our group.
For PhD application:
We in general aim to seek highly motivated and brilliant talents with the strong and diverse backgrounds in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science and others to join our group.
Please refer to admission requirements in School of EEE. Note, GRE, TOELF/IELTS are required.

The earliest opening of PhD student is Spring intake of 2023 (starting from Jan. 2023), and application deadline is usually the end of June, 2022. We also have openings for Autumn intake of 2023, and the application deadline is usually the end of Oct. 2022.
Our group now have several openings and the available scholarships in NTU: Nanyang President's Graduate Scholarship, Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme , NTU Research Scholarship, SINGA, AGS and etc. We highly recommend you to apply all of them, so you might have significantly better chances of admission.
For Postdoctoral application:
We aim to seek highly motivated and brilliant talents with strong backgrounds in diverse scientific branches including Optical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science and others to join our group. Strong mathematics/physics or experimental skills are favored but not required.

Besides of Research Fellow positions that our group will fund, we also strongly recommend the applications of various prestigious postdoc fellowships, such as Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKYPDF), Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship (PPF), SG Academies South-East Asia Fellowship (ASEAN Fellowship), Research Assistant Professorship (RAP), which have extra research supports in addition to mine and higher salary.
