Parents will receive a registration email from Smart Cookies to create a profile for the Smart Cookie portal where girls can set cookie goals; take cookie orders; place and track customer orders for hand delivery; track progress toward goals. Send Smart Cookies Direct Ship E-Card to customers via email where they can ship directly to customer or offer hand delivery to customers.. Email has a link to Smart Cookies Direct Ship. Customers can have cookies shipped directly and pay by credit card. For orders of 6-12 boxes - Council will pay half of shipping cost.
Parent cans download the Smart Cookies Mobile app from the app store or Google Play.
Keep current on transferring cookies to Girls and other Troops. Especially towards the end of the sale when you need to know outstanding amount girl owes or troops are trying to complete their Final Cookie Paperwork.
Transfer orders: There are 2 types of Transfer orders.
Troop to Troop transfers require a Troop Cookie Transfer Form to be filled out and signed by both troops. The Troop giving the cookies will input the Transfer order within 2 days into ABC Smart Cookies. This is needed to reduce your inventory and increase the receiving troops inventory.
Troop to Girl transfers: All transfer of troop cookies to girls require a dated written receipt for quantity and dollar amount of cookies with parent and cookie mgr/leader signature. Cookie mgr retains the receipt and uses that to input transfer in SNAP. Go to Cookie and select Transfer order. This transaction reduces the troop inventory and increases each girl and the amount owed. A report called Girl Balance Summary will show total # of boxes, amount paid and the amount owed.
Smart Cookies DirectShip is a great way for troops to participate in the Cookie Program without having cookies on hand or collect money.
Permission Slips/Receipt
Be sure to have each parent/guardian sign the Permission Slip. This could be needed should the parent become delinquent. Be sure to have parent sign and give them a receipt for all cookies received.
Remind Parents – Social Media Etiquette:
Girls and parents may begin to market cookies before Go Day, BUT must be careful to only announce that cookies are coming and NOT take any orders.
Marketing on the Internet should be to Family and Friends ONLY
Girls may only post about their participation on Digital Cookie on Social media that allows them to restrict access to friends and family
Online marketing activities should always be done through accounts set to “Private”
Girls ages 13 or older may use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, text messages, IMS, and emails as online marketing tool to let family, friends and former customers know about the sale and collect indications of interest. Use first name only, cannot expose their own or any other girls email address, physical address, or phone number.
Girls should read and sign the Internet Safety Pledge
