Welcome to the homepage for Good Shepherd's Pastoral Council & Parish ministries!
The Pastoral Council is an advisory body to our Pastor, Fr. Jozef Kovacik, and coordinates the Parish's five Standing Committees: Prayer & Worship, Parish Family/Life, Christian Service, Faith Formation and Fundraising. The Pastoral Council also works in conjunction with the Parish Staff & Finance Council, and supports the work of our Knights of Columbus Council & Catholic Daughters Court.
The Council consists of nine (9) selected members, two (2) ex-officio members, one (1) Youth Representative and five (5) Standing Committee representatives. Through a selection process and staggered terms, three (3) new members join the Council each year.
The current Council formed in March 2025. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month @ 6:30 PM in Classroom #2. A Zoom option is available for those who need it. Meetings are open to all parishioners.
We’d invite you to check out this site for more information about our Council and Parish ministries!

SAVE THE DATE! Good Shepherd's Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters are partnering to develop a new Pictorial Directory!
The last Directory was published in 2017 and is woefully outdated. The new Directory will help you get to know each other and put names to faces!
PHOTO DATES are OCTOBER 14-18, 2025 (weekdays 2:00-8:30 PM & Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM). See the flyer for signup information.
Here’s the good news...you'll receive a FREE directory and 8X10 portrait just for participating! And you'll have the opportunity to buy additional family portraits -- delivered before Christmas!
Don’t miss out on making a new treasured memory for both yourselves and the Parish community! Our new Directory won’t be complete without you!

Good Shepherd's Catholic Daughters of the Americas & Knights of Columbus will be collecting food items destined for the State College Food Bank during the month of July.
This joint effort satisfies their FOOD FOR FAMILIES annual service project. We encourage everyone to bring in copious supplies of non-perishable food items to Church on the following three weekends: July 12-13, 19-20 & 26-27.
There will be specially marked collection bins located in the Gathering Space. Our joint project team will pack and transport the tons of items to the Food Bank at the end of the month.
We thank you in advance for your Christmas spirit of food gift contributions and support!

Good Shepherd is once again hosting the Alpha program, Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM from September 11th through November 20th. There is also a special Saturday session from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 25th (a non-football weekend).
Alpha provides the opportunity to make new friends and enhance your Christian faith over dinner, a video presentation and sharing in small groups.
For Alpha 2025 we are reaching out to the larger Christian community in the Centre region. In June we encourage Good Shepherd parishioners to sign up to participate in Alpha. In July and August the enrollment will be offered to other churches to participate.
