Welcome to our Ministries website! For more information about Good Shepherd:
The Fundraising Committee is comprised of parishioners who are interested in helping to support existing and new fundraising activities. Members work to connect the resources of the Parish and larger community, bolstering our ability to raise funds.

This Ministry conducts calendar lotteries at different times during the year. The winning numbers come from the Pennsylvania Daily Lottery and proceeds benefit the Parish. Volunteers assist with the mailings.

Each Spring, this Ministry coordinates the annual Gardners Easter Candy Sale, which helps raise money for the Parish's General Fund. Candy is offered at competitive prices. In addition, parishioners may purchase candy to donate to the Fulton County Mission for distribution to the disadvantaged.

This Ministry conducts a small (but effective) fundraising program: selling gift cards that are worth exactly what they cost. The corresponding local grocery store then contributes a percentage of the sales (usually 5%) to the Parish. Since gift cards are just like cash and everyone needs groceries, this Ministry encourages all parishioners to use them for the benefit of the Parish.

Our fish dinners are held on Friday evenings throughout the Lenten season in Agape Hall, and are available for both dine-in and takeout. Volunteers are always needed to assist with setup/cleanup, working the kitchen, serving food, bussing tables, etc. All proceeds benefit the Parish's General Fund.

This Ministry conducts a periodic fundraising program that's related to Grocery Gift Cards. During select weeks in November, December and (occasionally) over the Summer, orders are taken for chain store and restaurant gift certificates at face value. The Parish is able to purchase these cards at a 2.5-10% discount, depending on the vendor. The cards may be used to purchase items parishioners need or given as gifts (popular during the holiday shopping season).
The Ministry is exploring the possibility of pre-purchasing the most popular gift cards to offer alongside Grocery Gift Cards. If this moves forward, volunteers will be needed to assist with sales after Masses.

The Shepherd's Ball is Good Shepherd's annual live/silent auction fundraising event! Featuring food, free wine/beer and music, all proceeds benefit Good Shepherd and it's Outreach Ministries:
Matthew 25: Good Shepherd provides financial support to local people in need.
McConnellsburg Catholic Mission: Good Shepherd collects items for people in need and volunteers deliver them to Fulton County.
Holy Spirit Parish (Maggotty, Jamaica): Good Shepherd coordinates mission trips, provides significant financial support, and shares our gifts with our sister Parish.
And more!
The event is open to the public and supported widely by the community, with more than 150 attendees in 2019 raising more than $20,000!
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Shepherd's Ball was postponed and later canceled. After a five-year hiatus, we're very happy to announce that the event is returning in 2025! Our theme will be 'Springtime in Greece'.
We have a great planning committee, but additional help is always needed to make this event a success. Please reach out if you'd be interested in volunteering!
