Established in 1848, Altamont serves as the Grundy County seat. The Library is located inside the Altamont City Hall building with a space dedicated to free public access to information through books and digital resources. Free Wi-Fi is available for public devices, internet-capable public access computers, and bound books for all ages are among the services provided to our community. Various public programs are offered throughout the year with our library-hosted job fair among the most popular. The Altamont Library offers personalized service to all, and we thrive on connecting people to resources across Grundy County. I invite you to explore our page and visit the library to learn more about all the Altamont and Grundy County Libraries have to offer.
