BC2GE (BaseCamp to Google Earth)

BC2GE (BaseCamp to Google Earth) is a small "helper" MS Windows program for users of Google Earth and Garmin BaseCamp or users who want to easily import GPX/TCX/FIT files into Google Earth.

You can have BC2GE add mile markers (arrows) or shift tracks.

Features

The newest version of Garmin BaseCamp (4.7) removed the "View in Google Earth" option. BC2GE brings that functionality back!  (Note that BC2GE works as an intermediary between BaseCamp and Google Earth, which means you have to click a button in BC2GE.)

IMPORTANT: if you are getting "straight lines", you'll want to use the Create Track options in the properties of routes (in BaseCamp) and copy the track. Otherwise, you'll just get straight lines connecting your waypoints and viapoints.

BC2GE also works for older versions of BaseCamp and for Garmin MapSource. It copies the BaseCamp objects (tracks, routes, waypoints) using their BaseCamp names (the option in BaseCamp used one name for every object, which meant copying different objects overwrote an object copied earlier.)

BC2GE will copy FIT, GPX, TCX, and KML files to Google Earth by just dropping the files onto the BC2GE window. (Google Earth can only import GPX and KML/KMZ files directly.)

BC2GE uses GPSBABEL (https://www.gpsbabel.org/ ) to convert the files into KML (the file format used by Google Earth).

BaseCamp and MapSource are route planning software from Garmin that run on your PC. They don't require internet access.

BC2GE uses the names of the BaseCamp objects in Google Earth (BaseCamp doesn't do this; it reuses the same name).
