Overall Design Process List:
First robot design was split up
Ann and Farrah built the red bot
Shaan, Shaurya and Nathan worked on the Tamiya
Nathan worked on the simulation set up
Farrah created the Trello
Next the course simulation
Ann and Farrah designed the and sketched the course simulation
Farrah built the course in the programmer
Nathan coded the robot to work around the course
One of the major issues faced was the corners so in order to solve this problem Nathan adjusted the course dimensions
Farrah and Ann started the website
Because they wasn't enough space and a lot of organizational issues, they created sub folders to house information for multiple projects
Ann wrote the research paper except the RoboCue and Walkman sections which Shaurya wrote
Finding papers in IEEE format was difficult as was adjusting citations from websites and resources that did not follow the format.
The use of online citation sites helped make this process smooth
Ann and Shaurya looked up robot types and found sources that explained how the robots worked
Because our topic paper was very specific examples were somewhat limited to find
Nathan coded to the red bot
He coded both the bumper sensors and the line follower
Because the tape was white he had to flip the color ration to ensure the line sensor read the line as existing
Farrah and Shaan rewired the Tamiya
Additionally the weight of the required sensors was not supported by the weak Tamiya base, which made coding the wheels difficult eventually resulting in switching the gear box and adjusting the battery power.
Shaan also found the autonomy spark-fun informational guide and switched gear box Type A(12.7:1) to Type C(114.7:1)
Ann finished the website setup and information
Farra, Shaan, and Nathan coded the Tamiya
Once again the same set up issues from the wiring plagued the project
Farrah and Shaan had to rewire the Tamiya again the fit the infrared sensor because sensor is uncommonly used and libraries are difficult to find for it.
Shaan, Nathan, and Farrah installed and coded the bumper sensors
Ann finalized the website, adding images, captions and small descriptions
