Pedometer is a simple app that tracks steps and physical activity in the backgroud. It allows students to focus on the task with less distraction as they do not need to be focused on the app at all times, but rather tracks their information in the background. They do not need to constaltly interact with the app, allowing them to focus on movmenet and the lesson objectives. They or the class can later look at this information when not participating in the genreal activity.
Pedometer motivates students to start the learning process as it provides immedate feedback to the students on thier activity level and steps. Students can see and track their progress twoareds goals in real time and the use of badges in the app can hold students accountable and keep them engaged towards a goal.
While the app itself does not have an engagement function for students, it can most definitely be used as a tool for active social learners. As a teacher, I can design activiites that encourage students to talk about thier results, work in teams, or discuss activity patterns, and work towards challenges to reach their goals. The use of this app supports active engagmenet and colabaration as they have a common tool that they can discuss.
This app allows students to collect and analyze their own physical activity data rather than simply learning about it through reading or lecture. Students can then identify patterns, set fitness goals, and evaluate progress. This shifts the information from passive learning to active production of learning and reflection.
This app provides visual represenations of physical activity that make it easier to understand physiacl activity levels, fitness goals, and behavior change. Students can easily see how their daily choices impact thier activity levels, which helps bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real world application.
This app allows students to continuously collect real-time physical activity data versus estimating actiity on paper or other ways. They can track their goals and get real time data to see how close they are too their goals. This creates learning that goes beyond the tradional in class assignemnts.

Absolutely! This app allows students to continue monitoring physucal activity outside of the PE classroom and into their daily lives. This app tracks constantly, thus they can get information from thier daily lives such as sports, extracurricular, or family outings! This extends their learning beyond just what we do in the PE classroom and encourages them to think about their habits on a regular basis.
This app helps students connect fitness concepts in PE to their daily lives. Rather than just hearing about how students need to increase activity level, they can see how active they truly are in and outside the classroom. These connections help students understand how the things learned in PE connect to real world wellness decisions.
Yes! This app help students develop skills such as goal setting, self monitoring, personal respopbtility, and data analysis. They learn how to track their own progress towards a goal and elvaluate that progress. They are also learning how their physical activity connects to their individual health and wellness. their
Objective: Students will track and analyze daily physical activity to understand the importance of meting reccomended activity elvels and develop personal fitness goals.
Students are to use pedometer++ to track daily steps for one week. We will discuss reccomended physical activity needs for adolesecents and how step counts can provide insight inot physical activity levels. Students will then set a personal goal based on their activity level.
Students will then submit their highest and lowest activity days and explain and reflect what they did on each of those days. Students will discuss if they feel they are active enough or if they should try and do more activity in thier daily lives.
I have attached the evaluation of the application to the left. I have scored a score of 16. The thing that this lacks the most is internal engagement with students. While not a bad thing, I will just have to create more assignemnts or activiites that get the students to engage over the application. I feel that this best helps bridge the gap (extend) between class and life outside of school. They can continue using this application outside of school to keep working towards their physical activity goals.
