Goal
We will bring awareness about child abuse. By advocating and educating for ourselves and our peers, we will help break the cycle of abuse.
Target Audience
The target audience we are trying to reach with our project is really everyone. On a large scale, we want to connect with our community members. Making connections with our peers is a day to day personal action we can take.
Personal Action
To take action in our own lives, we will start by educating ourselves. We will learn to recognize the signs of abuse so we can offer help to people we know. Also, we can find our about the resources in the community so we know where to tell people to go for help. The following organizations are some of the helpful resources in our community.
Everyone in Indiana is a mandatory reporter. If you know abuse is happening or have a suspicion, you are required to inform the authorities.
Turning Point exists to help victims, survivors, and families. They raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence and serving those in need. Turning Point's goal is to provide support and resources to achieve freedom from domestic and sexual violence.
Beloved supplies vulnerable children who are in foster care with a duffel bag – a Beloved Bag, to every child caught up in the crisis of a traumatic transition. Each Beloved Bag has items designed to meet physical and emotional needs, with room for personal belongings. These bags will include messages of dignity, faith, and hope and will be gifted to children in our community by social workers.
One of the services Clarity has available is a new parent readiness course. You can also work with Sky Youngblood and read her blogs about the different parenting problems. She has blogs about being under pressure, being angry, and even if your kids won't follow their bed time. She has her contact information and you can have a one-on-one conversation with her. She believes it's essential for a child to get a good childhood because it's their only one.
