Dr. Umut Bakhbergen is a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nazarbayev University under the supervision of Profs. Sherif Gouda and Chang-Seon Shon since January 2023. She completed her Ph.D. study with 'Performance-Based Approach to Assess Durability of Reactive Powder Concrete.' She received her Ph.D. (2023), MSc (2018), and B.S. (2016) degrees in Civil Engineering from Nazarbayev University. Her research interests include the durability of concrete, high-performance concrete, multi-functional composite materials, modeling of deterioration of cementitious materials, and interface strengthening of fiber metal laminates.
