Your mail may be getting delivered in a new electric mail truck already or soon will be. The USPS has been rolling out their new fleet of electric mail trucks. By 2028, the USPS looks to upgrade its fleet with over 100,000 new electric vehicles with a price tag estimated to be between $9,000,000,000 and $10,000,000,000. That is billions and billions of dollars. However, electric vehicles are not a modern invention, and this is not the first time in history that mail is being transported with electric mail trucks. The United States Postal Service used battery-powered cars as early as 1899. Electric vehicles were pushed to the side in the early 1900’s in favor of gas-powered vehicles, but now they are coming back. These new electric vehicles provide the USPS mail carriers with new modern vehicles boasting zero-emissions, air-conditioning, better visibility and more. Electric mail trucks are new again.
