Much was said about a second generation of the iPhone SE after the launch of the first in 2016, however it was not until 2020 when Apple has decided to launch this renewal. In aesthetics we did not find something innovative and in fact it has many similarities with the iPhone 8, which is not incompatible with high-end features and a model focused on a less demanding consumer sector. Below we break down everything about this team.

Apple seemed to find the key in the design of its smartphones with the launch of its iPhone 6 in 2014 with devices in sizes of 4.7 and 5.5 inches, but with identical characteristics in terms of screens, frames and buttons. This trend continued until 2017, the year in which the iPhone 8 seemed to close a cycle that gave way to an all-screen design that already in that same year the iPhone X debuted.
The cycle seems to be definitively completed now with the iPhone SE 2020, which in aesthetics is identical to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 except for the colours and the position of the apple logo on the back, which has become the center like the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. The colours in which it is available are white, black and red and these really differ from those same colours launched in 2017 because they are pure colours without any nuance like the rose gold that the iPhone had 8.
From the front if we did not find any difference visually, we would be unable to distinguish an iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 8 and this SE if we saw it only from the front angle. The frames are long and the home button with its respective Touch ID are present in this terminal. For many it may lose appeal on this side, but in the end we insist on emphasizing that the approach of this may differ from what most 'techies' want in a device.
Anything that is said about this device in this and other analyzes is purely subjective, however much a majority agrees in an opinion, therefore there are only a series of factors that can be expressed objectively. We are referring to the technical data of the iPhone SE, which you can check in the table below that appears in this article.
Entering fully into its performance, we must highlight that it mounts an A13 Bionic processor designed by Apple and that they mount latest generation phones such as the iPhone 11. To this has been added a neural motor capable of loading certain processes such as those related to AR (Augmented Reality). In this sense, we find a phone more than suitable for anyone, since it performs all processes with high efficiency.
It should be noted that the fact of mounting this chip will allow software updates to be prolonged for more years than the iPhone 8, reaching a minimum of 4 or 5 years from its launch. At launch it has a version of iOS 13 that works very smoothly.
In the internal memory, as is usual in Apple, we did not find amplification using micro SD cards. The device can have 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. These are capabilities that are more than valid for the sector to which it is focused, although certainly the 64 may come up short at times and in this case you would have to resort to cloud storage systems such as iCloud or someone else.
Touch ID is something that many will appreciate, despite the good operation of Face ID. It is the second generation Apple fingerprint sensor, identical to the one that iPhone 6s were incorporating onwards. It has a high reliability and security, making it a more than effective method to guarantee a pleasant consumer experience.
RAM data is not usually provided by Apple because it is not as important as in devices such as Android, since the fact that both the software and the hardware are specifically designed by the company guarantee a good operation. However, some experts in the sector have indicated that it has 3 GB, which represents an increase of 1 GB compared to what its 2016 predecessor mounted and what the iPhone 8 had.
The battery capacity is an unknown spec as Apple does not advertise for similar reasons, although again we find expert data that places its capacity at 1,821 mAh. This is a data identical to that of the iPhone 8 and that translates into a good life, but without being the bestin the mid-range. It should last a day without problems with normal use, but you will have to resort to the charger in case of exhaustive use of the terminal. Like the latest Apple devices, it adds the ability to be charged wirelessly and has fast charging capability with an iPhone fast charger.
OLED technology is already an absolute standard in the highest-end devices on the market, including iPhones, but Apple is reluctant to abandon the good experience of LCD panels for its menso premium devices. In this iPhone SE we have a panel with this technology that Apple calls Retina HD.
It is a 4.7-inch panoramic multi-touch panel and it has a resolution of 1,334 x 750 pixels at 326 p / p. Its contrast is 1,400: 1 (typical) with P3 colour gamut. The maximum brightness of the device goes up to 625 nits.
Where we find a change from the iPhone 8 is in the 3D Touch. The functionalities of this, like the contextual menus in apps or previews, are still available but they no longer do so thanks to the Taptic Engine. This motor was able to detect the pressure that was exerted on the screen giving a response in a vibrating way, and now something similar occurs but with the pulse time as a meter.
The iPhone SE of 2020 come with a pleasant surprise in their cameras and it is not precisely for the characteristics of these but for the photographic treatment by software that it is capable of. Again the A13 Bionic chip is to blame for this happening.
12 Mpx and f / 1.8 aperture is what we find in the back, something that did not allow taking pictures in portrait mode in the 4.7 version of the iPhone 8 and now it is possible. In addition, the depth control that the iPhone XS and XR began to have, which makes it very attractive. It is not the best camera on the market, but in this price range and in the case of an iPhone it is a very good sign.
In video recording it stands out for its good optical image stabilization, a section that Apple has dominated for years. It is capable of recording in 4K at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second, in 1080p HD at 30 or 60 f / s and in 720p HD at 30 f / s. It also has x3 digital zoom and True Tone flash to illuminate low-light spaces, since it does not incorporate night mode.
In the front camera we see 7 Mpx and f / 2.2 aperture. Again the same specifications as the iPhone 8, but with new features in portrait mode. It does not incorporate the True Depth sensor of the high-end models and that allows you to have Face ID, but the implementation of the new processor also does wonders in this regard to be able to take this type of photo through the software. There is no front flash, but take advantage of the device's screen as a focus when taking photos.
The video from the front camera is somewhat lower than the rear, being able to record in 1080p HD and 720p HD at 30 frames per second. Also in this case there is a great image stabilization.

The iPhone SE 2020 starts at $749.00 Australian Dollar. The most expensive version reaches 1,130.17 Australian Dollar, in the 256 GB configuration. It will be available in the colours black, white (with the front frames in black, finally) and Product Red.
This is the pricing if the iPhone SE at launch, a knock on the table in a market with ever-increasing prices. It remains to be seen how the public receives this second-generation iPhone SE.
