Standard Operating Practices are the formalized series of documentation that describes the various tasks that our members may need to perform. They are based on past practices that have worked well for us, and best practices that others have developed and utilized successfully.
Emergency Operations Plan is used to facilitate an effective response by the Greenport Fire Department to any extraordinary emergencies for all hazards presented including threats or acts of terrorism, natural and man-made disasters and any other type of emergency that could escalate and involve county, state, federal and/or non-governmental organizations.
This document is a living document that should be reviewed at least annually and updated as needed. This document is a compendium of individual listings representing the standard practices, procedures or guidelines that will be used to give the firefighter a basic knowledge of specific duties to safely complete a required task.
This document supplements the our ‘Standard Operating Practices’ and should be used as an additional resource for any extraordinary emergencies and disaster response. This document is also a living document which should be reviewed periodically. Additions to the Hazard Specific Appendices should be made as needed when new threats present themselves.
