This page will contain files and links for training to use our MSA M7XT air packs with rescue belt 2.
Since using and maintaining our SCBA is more of a physical skill which involves some level of cognitive learning, we will be flipping the classroom. Flipping the classroom involves doing the reading or watching a training video upfront before attending the actual hands-on-training (HOT) session. What we are trying to do is reduce the amount of time you need to sit in the classroom (you know how exciting that is!) by allowing you to complete a reading assignment or watch a video, on our own time at your own pace, that demonstrates what the HOT session will be covering. Of course, if there is the appearance that you are not completing the reading assignments or watching the videos prior to the HOT, I may require proof of completion through a test that must be submitted prior to the date of the HOT session.
We'll try it out in 2015 and see what happens.
If we are using air at an incident, we eventually need to fill the empty SCBA bottles. Part of being certified as an operator of 25-45 will require you to know how to safely fill SCBA bottles at the scene of an incident. We will be scheduling a training session on filling bottles and will be requiring students to view a short video that will cover safety issues and operating concepts of filling bottles at the scene of an incident. Please play the presentation below:
It would also be helpful to view the following presentation regarding bail-out training with our new SCBA prior to doing the hands-on-training.
Play the presentation below and respond accordingly.
