GREENPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Captain of the fire company acted as Fire Chief at fires to which the company responded from 2/14/1927 through 1933. Captain Harry Hallenbeck served from 2/14/1927 to his resignation 9/9/1929. Captain George Wallace served from 9/9/1929 to 1933 when he was appointed chief of the Greenport Fire Department until his death in December 1939.
