In this E-Portfolio readers will be able to see 4 artifacts that I developed in my MA program in Technical Communication and E-Learning.
In my opinion, the artifacts highlight my design skills and my personal way to deliver information in a straightforward way. Making use of plain English, avoiding technical jargon, and with a friendly style.
Each of my artifacts has its own screen where readers will find a brief description of it and why it was included in my e-portfolio. On those screens, users will be able to access my artifacts through a link.
Podcast
This artifact shows an initial podcast that I recorded as a proposal to deliver information on how to start the “curly girl method”. It has simple information and steps to start knowing some characteristics proper from curly hair. This instructional podcast benefits verbal learners and not just visual learners.
Rewrite
The memo is written for an Irish audience, even though I made a word choices and sentence construction that the text can be easily understood by a wider audience, including non-native speakers. On it you can see how the document transfers the message in a professional and formal style, but with a friendly tone.
The whole document provides three faulty visual aids found on the internet from various sources. All of them went through an editorial process before being published. I describe why I consider them “faulty” or “inadequate” graphics.
At the end of the document, I express some of the changes and additions I made to improve one of the images, using what I have learned during the semester.
Digital Learning Resourse
As an early childhood educator (myself) and a pediatric doctor (Steven), developed a broad knowledge of children's development and we wanted to merge that knowledge to create a digital learning resource to help parents and carers.
