When starting out at the gym, it's important to have some of the essentials for every workout:
Water Bottles: Blender Bottle
My go-to is a blender bottle water bottle. They are great for everyday use and perfect for the gym when mixing your pre and post workout. The biggest con I have with them is that the bottles sweat with really cold substances in them. They can range from $6-$35. One of the things I love about the bottles is that they have liscenses with pop culture logos like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel & Justice League superheroes! The premium blender bottles are sweat free and stainless steel. Be sure to not screw the tops on so tight and do not put warm substances in the bottles. I have busted many bottles doing this. They are dishwasher safe! You can find them here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/node/2583509011
Wraps:
Weight lifting wraps help me out a lot when I am needing to keep my wrist in one position. The wraps help me in any sort of pushing motion that focuses on chest, triceps, and shoulders. They can also be used for assistance with injury, but not used for this purpose. I got a pair of Rogue Weight lifting wraps and I absolutely love them. They are very comfortable to wear and not stiff. They also are able to wrap around my wrist at least twice over, giving me the balance I need to push the heavier weights. A typical pair of weight lifting wraps can cost around $10 to sometimes even $40. The Rogue wraps are closer to the $25 range. Here is the pair I use: https://www.amazon.com/ROGUE-FITNESS-Fitness-Wrist-Wraps/dp/B01MY2OOKZ
I have 3 other wrist wraps and these are my favorite. Comfort, stability, and able to smell good. What more can you ask for?!
40% elastic, 10% polyester, 50% cotton
Weight Belt: Harbinger
When pushing yourself, it's great to have some support, especially with your back. A lot of gym injuries start with the lower back. I have seen too many people have improper form with heavy weight to cause back pain. Weight belts can also be used to remind yourself to breathe and expand your diaphragm. My gym currently provides weight belts, but the ones they have are the Harbinger leather weight belts. I have used these on many occasions and they do not disappoint. I will head with caution that if you have a longer upper body, a 6 inch belt might be best. I find the 4 inch to do just fine. Majority of sizes are from $20-$25. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-361019-Leather-Contoured-Weightlifting/dp/B001OJ8JV8/
4" wide contoured leather for reliable core support
Interior foam padding and suede lining for comfort
Heavy duty dual-pronged steel roller buckle locks belt into position
Comfortable Clothes: Amazon & Neleus
That's right, I said Amazon. Amazon has a great series of shirts and shorts that feel great when I am working out. They fit very well even after growing my legs. 2 pairs of shorts for $18. Cannot beat that price. You can find my go-to shorts, here: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Essentials-2-Pack-Loose-Fit-Performance/dp/B0719SF8K1/
When it comes to shirts, I prefer to wear a racerback tank top. Great for being able to lift and breathe at the same time. For a 3 pack, It's $23. I'm a L and it fits super well. https://www.amazon.com/Neleus-Mens-Athletic-Muscle-Black/dp/B078MXZG1S/
Headphones: Skullcandy
It's hard to find good headphones for an affordable price. I currently use Bose QuietComfort headphones, but before I had over the ear, I used the Skullcandy Ink'd in-the-ear headphones. I still use them for my work. It's great for noise cancelling and get tunnel focus. The chord can wrap around your neck, so it does not drop in front of you. You can get them for around $10, which is a steal. Here is where you can get them. https://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-Microphone-Tangle-Reducing-Noise-Isolating-Precision
