The GRFAS mission is to enrich people's lives and foster a sense of community through traditional music, dance, and song. The next contra dance will be on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Fountain St Church. (Change of location for Sept.)

The next concert will be on Saturday, October 10.

A calendar of dance, concert, art, and other immediately upcoming free or low-cost local (Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo) events is always available <HERE>.

GRFAS is requesting memberships and additional board members. Board meetings are open to anyone.

Join the fun! The Grand River Folk Arts Society has its monthly contra dance usually on the 3rd Friday. A new organization now has contras on the first Friday. See Contra GR on Facebook for the latest news there.

No partner required. In contra dances, anyone may dance with anyone. Dancers might range from 6 to 92 years of age. See the current calendar at the bottom of the page
