How I as a person identify with the land and the environment around me.

As a person living on Earth, I am the land and environment around me. Something that I often think about is how if I take care of my environment, it will take care of me. It makes me feel good to take care of the planet that I live on and in turn, I get a beautiful sanctuary to thrive in. One small instance of little ways I take care of the Earth is when I pick up and dispose of litter I encounter while outside taking a daily walk. A more substantial example of my passion for taking care of the environment is evident in the career path I strive to pursue in the realm of recycling and reusing products. An example of my ideal scenario of taking action in this field would be by extracting waste from the ocean, (say glass bottles), and transforming those bottles into something practical again, such as a glass countertop. At the end of the day, I am a firm believer in karma and I deeply believe in the need to keep our planet clean so that we as humans can stay happy and healthy.

Additionally, I am very in tune with the land and environment from an emotional standpoint. I worry a lot during times of evident destruction due to climate change and climate destruction (such as the recurrent flooding in Vermont). Moreover, both my emotions and mood are very dependent on the basic day-to-day weather conditions. If it is rainy, cold, snowy, or windy, it usually takes a toll on my overall mood. In contrast, if it is warm and sunny, I usually start my days feeling much happier. In addition, I am also a big lover of animals. This means I sometimes cry when I see roadkill or watch videos about polar bears running out of ice in the Arctic. I feel very empathetic for other creatures on Earth and what they have to endure as a result of reckless and irresponsible human activity.

Lastly, I identify as being extremely passionate about environmental topics. I am always trying to deeply encourage others to think about their impact on the environment and their surroundings as much as I do. I make an effort to motivate others to make smarter decisions with how they go about interacting with our world. Falling under this umbrella of passion lies getting into disagreements with people about the extent to which we are affected by climate change, etc. But these hard conversations only motivate me to continue to work harder to better my environment and bring awareness to how we as a human race should identify with the land and environment around us.
