In the Google Play Store, apps are grouped into categories based on their functionality. Categories make it easy for users to find the apps they need. Categories such as Games, Productivity, and Lifestyle are examples of popular categories.
We have conducted various types of categorical analysis to understand how the categories are distributed and how they perform in terms of reviews, ratings, and installs.
Category distribution:
One of the first things we looked at was the category distribution, which showed us how many apps were in each category. This helped us understand which categories were more popular and which categories had fewer apps.
Categories vs reviews:
Next, we analyzed the relationship between categories and reviews. By plotting categories on the x-axis and reviews on the y-axis, we were able to see which categories had the highest number of reviews.
Categories vs ratings:
Similarly, we looked at the relationship between categories and ratings. By plotting categories on the x-axis and ratings on the y-axis, we were able to see which categories had the highest ratings.
Categories vs installs:
Finally, we analyzed the relationship between categories and installs. By plotting categories on the x-axis and installs on the y-axis, we were able to see which categories had the most installs.
For each of these types of categorical analysis, we used various types of plots such as bar charts, scatter plots, and box plots to help us visualize the data and identify patterns and trends.
