American Youth Works' mission is to provide young people with opportunities to build careers, strengthen communities, and improve the environment through education, on-the-job training, and service to others.
Students in the Memory Caregiver Academy of Austin receive classroom instruction and clinical experiences in actual memory care facilities. We strive to give our students the necessary knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, competent, and respectful care.
Lone Star Construction Trades Training provides a 40-hour, hands-on training that covers basic electrical theory, electrical code, blueprints, tool safety, and hands-on training to include wiring switches, GFCI receptacles, 3-way switches, duplex receptacles, conduit bending, and wiring a panel.
This five-year program trains capable plumbers and pipe fitters. It accomplishes this through the age-old apprenticeship system for those with little to no trade experience, refresher courses, and advanced training courses for plumbers and pipe fitters who have achieved journeyman status.
The on-the-job training phase means employment by a qualified contractor and enables an apprentice to earn his/her way while learning a trade.
Building Trades ARPs teach the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3), a standardized, comprehensive, 120-hour construction course designed to help young people and transitioning adults choose and succeed in apprenticeship programs that are appropriate for them.
The MC3 Curriculum can be taught face-to-face, asynchronously, or through a hybrid model delivered via an Online Learning Management System.
