Outline of pilot structure
Students are allocated in groups of 6. Half of the students (Group 1) will attend in the morning and half (Group 2) in the afternoon. The pilot format should be as follows:
• AM (2.5 hours) - See acute patients (Group 1)
• LUNCHTIME (45-60 mins) - Joint tutorial* (Group 1 and 2) - virtual or face-to-face
• PM (2.5 hours) - See acute patients (Group 2)
*Lunch time debrief/pre-brief to overlap between both groups, so joint tutorial for all 6 students, with student responsibility for agenda and (if virtual) for the set up.
Morning/Afternoon working from home
Tasks for students when not at the GP surgery:
Plan tutorial (collaborate with GP)
Look up PUNs DENs
Prepare patient presentation for the group
Plan a learning session on one of the GP core themes (also see buttons below) - e.g. present power point, plan questions to test knowledge, invite group working and thinking
Work with virtual resources: Speaking clinically, Virtual Primary Care, Capsule (see below) - prepare material to share for tutorial
Write up CEXs, DOPs, CBDs, Continuity exercise on pebble pad
