On Thursday, 8th May 2025, the Management of Sterling Heights Academy visited the Mampong Traditional Council to express heartfelt condolences on the passing of Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the Omanhene of Mampong and revered occupant of the Silver Stool.
Led by the Executive Director, Ing. Prof. Isaac Monney, the delegation, including the Head of Administration, Mrs. Sylvia Benefor and the Head of Academics, Rev. Frank Agyei Boateng, presented items to support preparations for Daasebre’s funeral rites. As a mark of respect, Prof. Monney signed the Book of Condolence opened at the Mampong Palace in honour of the late traditional leader.
Sterling Heights Academy joins the chiefs, elders, and the people of Mampong in mourning this great loss. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Mampong Traditional Council and pray for strength during this solemn period.

Students from the Sterling Heights Academy Chess Club have been diligently training since we started our chess club in the past three months, sharpening their skills and strategic thinking. Their hard work paid off when they competed in the Kumasi Junior Chess Competition 2024. The team performed exceptionally well, winning several games and showcasing their talent and determination. Their success reflects our school's commitment to promoting critical thinking and sportsmanship, and they continue to inspire their peers to engage in the beautiful game of chess.

Sterling Heights Academy has clinched the title for the topmost reader in the 2024 Inter-school Reading Quiz Competition organised by Perbi Cubs. This competition seeks to ignite children's passion for reading, particularly those in Grades 2 to 8. During the competition, students had access to thousands of books and obtained points after reading and answering questions based on the books read. After the qualification stage Sterling Heights Academy emerged in first position among the top 20 schools across the country. At the end of the entire competition, Sterling Heights Academy won the following prizes:

Youngest Reader among top 20 readers
Furthermore, four exceptional students from Sterling Heights Academy attained diamond medals for their remarkable feat in clinching spots among the top 20 readers. These achievements stand as a testament to our dedication to fostering a culture of reading excellence. We congratulate our talented students for their outstanding accomplishments.

Love in Action: Christian Missionaries Visit Sterling Heights Academy
Sterling Heights Academy was honoured to welcome a group of Christian missionaries from the USA, led by Dr. Tim Rogers, Lead Pastor of Grace Point Church in Pennsylvania.
During their visit, our guests interacted with students and staff, sharing inspiring messages and encouraging us to strive for excellence in all we do. Their passion for empowering young minds and supporting education is truly commendable.
Their visit was arranged by Evangelist Emmanuel Kelvin Adomako; a Christian Missionary and also the Chairman of the PTA at Sterling Heights Academy.
We are grateful for the time spent with us and the love shared with all students and staff. Thank you, Dr. Tim Rogers, Mrs. Jennifer Rogers, Ms. Liana Rogers, Mrs. Margaret Goshert, and Mr. Mike Goshert, for your dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
