In October 2024, Sterling Heights Academy celebrated one of our own when Ms. Caroline Amezah, a cherished teacher in our Nursery Department, was named Best Private School Teacher in the Mampong Municipality by the Ghana Education Service. Presented as part of the World Teachers’ Day festivities, this honour recognises Ms. Amezah’s extraordinary gift for nurturing and inspiring our youngest learners. Along with a beautiful certificate, she went home with a flatscreen TV. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Amezah; we couldn’t be prouder of her outstanding achievement!
2025 Awards
Sterling Heights Academy is excited to share our remarkable success at the 14th Edition of the UCMAS National Competition in Ghana. This year, we presented five exceptional students, who showcased their skills and competed against over 3,000 participants from all corners of the country. The event was organised at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, from 8th to 10th August, 2025.
Their hard work and dedication paid off with outstanding results:

1 Gold Medal 🥇 – Awarded to the top performers of all competitors
4 Silver Medals 🥈 – Also awarded to the top top performers in 3 categories
We are especially proud of Eugene Adomako, whose unparalleled performance earned him the prestigious trophy.
This latest achievement brings our total UCMAS national record to 2 trophies and 14 medals, a testament to the commitment, discipline, and brilliance of our students and the support of our dedicated teachers.

Sterling Heights Academy is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of its Executive Director, Ing. Prof. Isaac Monney, who has been honoured by the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) with the Engineering Concepts and Innovation Award.
The award was presented during the Closing Banquet of GhIE’s 55th Annual General Meeting and Engineering Conference, held on March 28, 2025, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
This prestigious award recognises engineers and organisations that demonstrate excellence in innovative project design and implementation, with significant economic, environmental, and social impact. Recipients are selected based on their contribution to the national economy, the relevance and effectiveness of their engineering solutions, and their commitment to sustainable development.
The award reflects his professional excellence and the strong values of innovation, sustainability, and service that Sterling Heights Academy stands for.

Sterling Heights Academy is proud to celebrate an outstanding literary achievement by one of our bright learners, Emmanuel Dzidzor Agezo, who emerged as 1st Runner-Up in the Bookworm Reading Competition – Season 5 (Ashanti).
The Bookworm Reading Competition is a highly competitive reading challenge designed to promote literacy, comprehension, confidence, and public speaking among pupils across the region. Season 5 attracted many talented young readers, making Emmanuel’s achievement even more remarkable.
Representing Sterling Heights Academy with excellence, Emmanuel demonstrated exceptional reading fluency, comprehension, confidence, and stage presence, earning him a well-deserved place among the top finalists. He was awarded a certificate and medal, proudly wearing the 1st Runner-Up sash as a symbol of his hard work and dedication.
This achievement shows Emmanuel’s commitment to reading and the strong culture of literacy, academic excellence, and holistic child development at Sterling Heights Academy. We believe that strong readers become strong thinkers, leaders, and lifelong learners.

Sterling Heights Academy proudly congratulates its Founder and Executive Director, Ing. Prof. Isaac Monney, on his recognition at the 9th Edition of the Forty Under 40 Ghana Awards, held on September 5, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.
The Forty Under 40 Ghana Awards celebrate Ghana’s most influential and accomplished young leaders under the age of forty across diverse sectors of the economy. Prof. Monney was honoured for his visionary leadership, innovation, and national impact.
He received this prestigious recognition for founding Sterling Heights Academy, an institution that has expanded access to quality education, created employment opportunities, and transformed learning in an underserved community. He was also recognised for pioneering Ghana’s first car-wash wastewater recycling system, a groundbreaking innovation that promotes sustainable water reuse, environmental protection, and climate resilience.
At just 36 years old, Prof. Monney was promoted to Associate Professor, making him one of the youngest academics in Ghana to reach this milestone. He brings together strong academic excellence and practical impact, with nearly 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and about 1,000 citations, as well as extensive experience from internationally funded water and sanitation consultancy projects.
This achievement reflects the same spirit of excellence, innovation, and social responsibility that defines Sterling Heights Academy.

Sterling Heights Academy proudly celebrates one of its pioneer graduates, Kwadwo Obeng Asiama, who has been honoured with the 2025 BECE Excellence Award by the Methodist Church of Ghana, Effiduase Diocese.
The award, presented on 30th December 2025, recognises Kwadwo’s outstanding academic performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and his exceptional discipline, commitment, and excellence throughout his basic school journey at Sterling Heights Academy.
Kwadwo was part of the Trailblazers Class of 2025, the first graduating cohort of Sterling Heights Academy. This historic group achieved an extraordinary milestone for the school, recording:
100% BECE pass rate
Eight (8) candidates
Five (5) single-digit aggregates
Six ones
These remarkable results placed Sterling Heights Academy among the leading-performing schools in the region and established a strong academic legacy from our very first BECE cohort.
Kwadwo’s journey did not end at BECE success. He is currently a proud student of Mfantsipim School, one of Ghana’s most prestigious secondary schools, where he is pursuing General Science. His continued academic progress reflects the strong foundation in discipline, critical thinking, and excellence he gained at Sterling Heights Academy.

Sterling Heights Academy is thrilled to announce that Andrea Adepa, a Grade 5 student and proud representative of our school, was honoured as the Best Female Chess Player at the Kumasi Junior Chess Rapids 2025, held at The Ridge School, Kumasi.
Andrea’s exceptional performance and persistent determination on the chessboard distinguished her among many skilled participants. Her achievement as Best Female Player reflects not only her chess talent and competitive spirit, but also the strong culture of critical thinking, confidence, and resilience we nurture at Sterling Heights Academy.

Sterling Heights Academy is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Samuel Asuo Baffour, a Grade 7student, who emerged 1st Runner-Up at the Kumasi Junior Chess Rapids 2025.
The Kumasi Junior Chess Rapids is a highly competitive tournament that brings together some of the brightest young chess talents across the region. The rapid-chess format challenges players to think strategically while making quick, accurate decisions under time pressure — a true test of focus, intelligence, and composure.
Samuel demonstrated exceptional tactical awareness, discipline, and resilience throughout the tournament, competing confidently against strong opponents and securing an impressive second-place finish. His performance reflects both his personal dedication to the game and the strong culture of critical thinking, problem-solving, and excellence that Sterling Heights Academy promotes.
