GNS has released his latest project 'YOU', by the month of August, 2023.
GNS started off as a meticulous kid (Themba) at 17 who had no musical insight. Who was never told to pick up a mic, or start playing keys, or even pursue a career in music. Themba made the executive decision to start the journey himself, not fully being aware of where it might take him. Artists like Santan Dave, were who inspired him to take a deeper look into music.
Learning how to write, 'finding your rap voice,' and also how to hop on a beat was what Themba researched in his early days. Looking back, GNS grew from nothing but Themba's drive to keep working. What he has now, it's not talent, but it's because of hard work.
The passion and fire that grew along with him, became the new fuel that kept him going. The melodies you could make on pianos, and the flows you could cultivate with different drum patterns, there were so many. Listening to artists like Chance the Rapper, Saba, Noname and more, opened up his world of music.
In his first year of College in Maynooth University, GNS met the likes of McJordan, Bola G, Joshua, Idanesi Momoh, and countless more musicians that he was able to learn from. For example, composing instead of just producing with samples, real rap, and then singing were a few of the many things he learned in college from his musical peers. You can hear this in his music. This was done all while studying, International Business & Music Technology. Working in the University's studio and with their equipment, GNS learned about recording, sound design, mixing and mastering. The things he learned only helped him create better and much more professional sounding music.
GNS creates his pieces from scratch. From the four chords he made using his midi, to the drum patterns, to the self recorded vocal effects and then the final mix and master. He doesn't stop there. The part-time creative loves to visually capture moments, edit and then use them for his music. His Instagram account is all unapologetically him.
His artwork for his music has either been taken by himself, friends or drawn by digital artists. For example @MalcoPoloArt and @PageOneArtz on Instagram.
He is looking to reach a new milestone in his career. Reach new people, ears, and fans. The Grind Never Stops for GNS.
