Fun fact | My grandparents are immigrants from Greece and come from a small village called "Eptahori". Eptahori means "seven villages" due to the result of being in union with the six surrounding villages. I visit Greece almost every summer to visit with family so here are a few recommendations are hidden gems of the second largest city in all of Greece! Thessaloniki is a place I hold very near to my heart, and always feels like home when I am there 🖤

For a taste of local life, stop by the bustling Modiano Market to sample fresh produce and local delicacies.
Growing up eating Greek food my entire life, this is not a topic I take lightly. I find such freshness and comfort in the Mediterranean cuisine, most dishes are shared plates for the table. There are so many good spots around the city, but over the years I have narrowed down the spots I always find myself returning too.
My absolute favorite restaurant in Thessaloniki is Mourga. This restaurant really brings you back to in time, a restaurant filled with paintings of traditional Greek dancing folk costumes. The best part about this restaurant, is that there is a different menu every day because they buy all produce from the market. This restaurant will provide you with a true meaning of Greek culture, with the freshest ingredients.
Some other great options:
Mavri Thalassa | Known for its exceptional seafood, this upscale restaurant offers fresh fish and traditional Greek dishes in a refined atmosphere.
Sempriko | A popular spot for modern Greek cuisine with a focus on high-quality local ingredients. Their creative take on traditional dishes makes it a must-visit.
Diavasi | A legendary taverna famous for its juicy souvlaki and authentic Thessaloniki street food flavors.
Grada Nuevo | A fine dining restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist. Known for its elegant setting and excellent wine list.
Albeta Bakery | One of my favorite places to grab a pastry in the morning and a Nescafe.
