Leading with Prayer
Before I entered the office, I spent a few minutes in prayer in front of the Tabernacle and in the office in front of the statue of Mother Mary. It helps us to concentrate on our responsibilities.
Prayer in Action
I don’t have any hesitation to say that prayer has given me enormous strength in doing my ministry. As I had to interact with lay people, religious priests, Bishops, and other stakeholders, I used to have initial fear and doubt in my mind regarding the success of the responsibilities. But I can confidently share that some of my initiatives such as printing bible diaries for the consecutive fourth year in a row and digital and physical outreach to around 16 dioceses in Tamilnadu were path-breaking. Most of the activities became successful and meaningful for ordinary people only because of the intervention of Mother Mary and Peyton’s intercessory roles. Sometimes I felt that I hit against the wall, but it was prayer that made the ministry very successful. In spite of my own shortcomings, it is the intervention of God that made the Holy Cross Family Ministry in Tamilnadu what it is today. I am very much convinced that it is only prayer that is a guiding force.
The Quiet Garden
As a priest, other than the office prayer, I find more meaning in spending time in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord in silence, whose presence is very much real. No words, no sounds but inner strength is experienced to keep me focused in my ministry especially when things are challenging.
Trusting the Harvest
Prayer is a wonderful way to connect with oneself and the creator. As a priest, I am grateful to my parents for instilling in me a love for prayer from a young age. Prayer is a means of communication between me and my creator, and the longer I engage in it, the deeper my relationship with God becomes. Through prayer, I am able to connect with my innermost self and gain a better understanding of who I am.
