 GLENCOVE, INC. - POLICIES (August 2022)

1.    All residents of the Glenbrook Cove neighborhood are eligible for membership.  There is a one-time initiation fee of $150 (non-refundable).(initiation fee waived for 2025)

Annual dues:  

 $225 for a household with only one residents

 $325 for all households with two or more residents

 $325 for Outside Members households with one resident 

$425 for Outside Members households with two or more residents

 (no initiation fee)     

All fees are to be paid to the treasurer.

2.     Usage of the pool by the Glencove neighborhood is limited to dues-paying members only.  Exception to the rule is the Memorial Day Party, Fourth of July Party, Labor Day Party or other parties planned by the Association and open to the entire neighborhood.  

3.     All members are issued a "Member's Card".  This badge must be with you and shown to the lifeguard in order to enter the pool area. Replacement cards are $2.00 each.  

4.     Members must register their guests with the lifeguard.  The guests must be accompanied at all times by the member.  A youth (less than 18) of a member family may only register 3 guests unless the head of the household is present.  A maximum of 9 guests are allowed per family without the charge of an additional lifeguard.  DO NOT register guests that are not yours.  Members (and their families) who falsely register guests will be expelled for a minimum of one week.

5.     The Glencove pool is a family pool.  Anyone who compromises the family atmosphere will be asked to leave.  All Members have a right and responsibility to see that the pool is a safe and enjoyable place.  If you see something going on that you know is wrong, take care of it at that time by notifying the lifeguard.  If you compromise the safety of yourself or others, you will be asked to leave.  The severity of the infraction will determine the length of the expulsion.  For serious offenses no warnings have to be given.  If you are expelled from the pool you must vacate all Glencove Inc. property.  This includes the hill area and gravel drive.

6.     All laws must be obeyed.  This includes No Smoking or Drinking of Alcohol by minors.

7.     There is NO Smoking or vaping within the fenced pool area.  You are welcome to smoke outside of the fence. Smoking materials are to be disposed of properly and not left on the ground.

8.     The lifeguard chairperson must be notified if a member wishes 10 or more guests to use the pool during "normal" pool hours.  The member will then be required to pay the party fee of $100, if an additional lifeguard is required the rate of $50.00 per hour and guarantee a minimum of 3 hours.  Minimum of 48 hours advance notice is required. (This is not a "private" party and the pool will remain open to all members.) Party rental is dependent on availability of lifeguards. 

9.     The lifeguard has the responsibility of enforcing pool rules and policies as established by the Association.  Furthermore, the lifeguard has the responsibility of maintaining users' safety within the pool area.

10.   If members or their guests strike a lifeguard or any board member, the member (and their family) will be expelled for 12 calendar months.  Notice will be given to the head of household if any member of their family or guests have been expelled for more than one day.

11.   Private pool parties:  Members must arrange through the Lifeguard / Reservation Chairperson:

        The following apply to Private pool party reservations:

A.   A payment of $100 for a 3-hour party, and an additional $50.00 per hour for additional hours must be paid in advance to the Lifeguard / Reservation Chairperson, by the responsible member before we can reserve the date and time for the party.  No exceptions!  Reservation is subject to lifeguard availability.

B.   One lifeguard is required for a maximum of 30 persons attending. A maximum of 60 guests are allowed if two lifeguards are present. For over 30 in attendance, an additional lifeguard is required and the member is charged an additional $50.00 per hour rate.   (This rule applies even if your guests do not anticipate entering the pool.  Chaperones, adults and children all count towards the attendance requirements.) 

C.  The pool may be reserved for private parties from 8:00 to 11:00 PM on any night. Noise ordinance begins at 10:00 PM  please be polite to the neighbors. 

D.  If the party is canceled, the deposit is forfeited and the guard is paid 1 hour as a cancellation fee.  The Glencove Pool treasury retains the balance.

E.   There will be no refund for canceled parties unless: (1) the pool is closed; (2) there is a death in the member’s family; or (3) it is raining.

F.   If a member is unable to use the date reserved, the member may make your own arrangements for another member to use your date and cover the payment.

G.  No trash may be left behind after a party -- the area must be left neat and clean, and the trash must be taken homeIf trash is not taken out the member is responsible for paying a fee of $25. 

12.   All motorized vehicles are to enter the pool area only by the 40th St. Dr. access.  No motorized vehicles are allowed on any pool property except the gravel area of the 40th St. Dr. access.  Please respect all private property that borders the Glencove Pool grounds.

13.   Repeated infractions of the pool rules and policies may result in expulsion from the pool at the discretion of the Board, lifeguard chairperson, or lifeguard on duty.

14.   Any unauthorized use of the pool facilities may result in trespassing charges being filed.

15.   During normal pool hours, radios or other sound equipment using external speakers will not be allowed in the pool area.  The pool will provide a radio.  The lifeguard on duty controls the radio.

16.   Various fundraising activities will be conducted throughout the year with the direction and approval by the Board of Directors.  These activities may include selling beverages and candy at the pool, collecting cans, etc.  All funds raised will be put into the general fund of Glencove Inc.

17.   Lifeguards may close the pool or not open the pool if the outside temperature falls below 70º or if the weather is unfavorable.

Thursday Adult Swim 5pm-7pm

Friday 1pm-8pm

Saturday-Sunday  11am – 8pm

 

 MOWING AND GROUNDS

The maintenance of our grounds is the responsibility of each member!  Don't rely on others to do your share!

 

The mowing of the yard inside and outside of the pool area and the pool deck maintenance is the responsibility of, and is performed by, the membership.  Maintenance includes: keeping pool areas clean and picked up; trimming grass inside and outside of the pool area; keeping the pool house clean; and maintaining flower gardens, etc.
