Magnetic Resoance Imaging (MRI)

This bedside MRI technology is inspired by Matt Rosen's pioneering low field MRI work at MGH.

As a 4 Catalyzer co-founder and first employee I was responsible for leading the development of the first two proof-of-concept prototypes of the first truly portable MRI.

The first prototype was completed in 123 days:

The second prototype was built in 6 months later provided significantly higher performance and all subsystems designed in house.  This unit folded up for compactness and would un-fold for imaging:

Our entire team won Apple Watches from Jonathan for acquiring our first brain image only 24h after he challenged us to do so:

The success of these prototypes enabled a large fund raising round.  Over the years since my involvement, more and more sophisticated systems were developed culminating in product release and company IPO.  Hyperfine is now listed on the NASDAQ as $HYPR.
