Ground Command is responsible for organizing and directing ground forces during military operations, including deploying troops, coordinating with other units, communicating with the chain of command, and executing the overall battle plan.
Before every operation, troopers will gather at a designated area, typically in the Main Hangar Bay for operational briefing. Only High Command or the current GameMaster hosting the operation is allowed to select a Ground Command. To be chosen as Ground Command, you must hold the rank of Master Sergeant or higher.
As the Ground Command, you will start by attending an event briefing (Event Briefing Room in TeamSpeak) to learn about the mission objectives and any requirements, such as hacking or demolitions. The GM hosting the mission will provide guidelines and rules, including restrictions on equipment like jetpacks and explosives. You will communicate this information to the rest of the troopers, and provide each regiment with their specific tasks on the ground using a voice amplifier. Please refer to the Regiment-specific information at the bottom for further details.
Your duties involve instructing forces on objectives, such as locating hacking terminals and holocrons. It is essential to communicate clearly with the rest of the forces and keep them updated on the situation. Don't hesitate to speak up, as confusion can lead to chaos.
When chosen as ground command, you may receive a voice amplifier to communicate with the army, but if not, avoid abusing your radio. Keep your responses brief and to the point.
A strong command presence as ground command during an operation involves projecting confidence, professionalism, and respect towards other players. This means taking charge of the operation, making quick decisions, and effectively communicating orders to the team. The ground command must also be aware of their team's abilities and limitations and delegate tasks accordingly, ensuring everyone is aware of their role and responsibilities.
A strong command presence instills confidence in the team and helps maintain order and direction during chaotic situations, ultimately contributing to the operation's success.
After completing the mission, you should instruct all troopers to return to the landing zone and ensure that everyone has entered the ships. Then, prepare to depart and return to the ship. Once back on the ship, you can call for a public or private debrief. Public Debrief should only be called for off-ship operations or by a member of High Command.
During a public debrief, you would announce on the radio for everyone to gather in the debrief room. Once everyone has assembled, you would take the stage and provide a detailed explanation of what occurred during the mission. If a private debrief is conducted, your responsibilities as Ground Command has concluded and you may direct all troops to go to their bunks for private debriefing.
Stormtroopers are the primary infantry force of the Galactic Empire and are trained to fight on the frontlines of ground assaults. Tank Troopers, on the other hand, are the armored complement to the Stormtroopers. They operate heavy weapons, explosives, and armored vehicles to provide direct fire support to ground troops. Stormtroopers and Tank Troopers work together to support each other and accomplish their mission objectives. Stormtroopers provide the bulk of the infantry force, while Tank Troopers provide heavy support and can help to break through enemy fortifications or take out heavily armored targets.
The 501st Legion will likely be at the forefront of the attack, using a combination of heavy supporting fire and other specializations to push through enemy defenses and secure objectives. They are typically deployed in the most dangerous and difficult combat situations. Their mission is to spearhead assaults and break enemy lines, paving the way for other Imperial forces to advance.
Medical Corps:
Medical personnel would be deployed to the front lines along with the rest of the troops to provide medical assistance as needed. In addition to their primary role of healing troopers, they may provide occasional fire support when necessary. The role of medical personnel is critical for the success of the mission, as their actions can mean the difference between life and death for injured troops.
Shock Troopers are to provide security; they may also be tasked with protecting Imperial personnel, such as the ground command or engineering personnel, during ground assaults. This could involve escorting personnel to secure locations or engaging enemy forces to allow them to escape or complete their task. Overall, the Shock Troopers' role is to be a frontline force that can engage the enemy and break through their defenses.
Imperial Commandos are a highly specialized unit that can be used in various roles in an operation. Their primary expertise lies in demolition, reconnaissance, and infiltration operations, but they are also highly effective in close-quarters combat and data collection.
Death Troopers are an elite special forces unit of the Galactic Empire with highly advanced training and equipment. They would likely be deployed to take on the most challenging and dangerous objectives, including highly fortified enemy positions, key infrastructure, or important enemy personnel. In addition to their primary mission of protecting VIPs, Death Troopers can perform a wide range of specialized missions. For example, they can undertake search and destroy missions, targeting specific enemy personnel or structures. They can also be assigned to protect valuable Imperial assets or partake in infiltration missions into enemy territory. Given their advanced training and equipment, they are well-suited to undertake high-risk missions that require stealth, precision, and deadly force.
The Imperial Navy mainly focuses on maintaining order and obedience throughout the galaxy, and they handle the day-to-day operations of the Imperial Star Destroyer (ISD). In terms of ground assaults, the role of the Imperial Navy can vary depending on the specific situation and the needs of the mission. However, their focus is typically on support roles for frontline troops.
Starfighters are responsible for transporting personnel to and from off-ship locations and can also provide Close-Air Support (CAS) to ground forces if necessary. This may include attacking enemy positions or targets, conducting reconnaissance, or providing airborne surveillance. In addition to their flight roles, any SF personnel not performing flight duties will join the backlines, which typically refers to the rear of the combat formation where they can support the main fighting force. SF units may also be responsible for other tasks, such as scouting and reconnaissance, providing suppressive fire, and securing objectives. They may also be tasked with conducting specialized operations, such as demolitions or sabotage.
ISB agents would likely be tasked with gathering intelligence on the enemy, analyzing data and reports, and providing information to military commanders to help them make informed decisions. They may also identify and neutralize enemy spies or saboteurs and investigating potential acts of treachery or insubordination within Imperial ranks. They would be more effective in supporting roles, such as coordinating with other units, providing situational awareness and intelligence to commanders, and monitoring communications and enemy activity.
The Inquisitors are a specialized division within the Imperial Military tasked with hunting down and eliminating any remaining Jedi in the galaxy. During ground assaults, the Inquisitors may be deployed to search for and neutralize any Jedi threats that may be present. They are highly skilled in lightsaber combat and the use of the Force, making them well-equipped to handle this task. In addition to their primary mission, the Inquisitors may serve as a defensive line to protect other Imperial troopers during ground assaults. They can use the Force to create barriers and deflect incoming blaster fire, allowing other troopers to safely advance behind them. This defensive line may be established ahead of the frontline troopers to block enemy fire and provide cover as they advance.
Purge is a specialized regiment that assists Inquisitors in hunting down and eliminating Jedi. Purge may be deployed to locate and eliminate Jedi or other Force-users hiding among the enemy forces. They may be tasked with securing key objectives, such as command centers or weapon depots, and eliminating any Jedi who stand in their way. In situations where no Force-Using threats are present, Purge may serve as effective frontline forces, fighting alongside other Imperial regiments to secure territory, engage in firefights with enemy forces, and complete various other objectives assigned by the ground command. They may also serve as a reserve force to be deployed to any part of the battlefield as needed.
The role of the Imperial Royal Guards can vary depending on the situation. If a VIP is present, the Royal Guards will focus on protecting the VIP and ensuring their safe evacuation if necessary. They may also be involved in securing the perimeter around the VIP, creating a defensive line, and eliminating any threats to the VIP's safety. If there is no VIP present, the Imperial Royal Guards may still provide security and defense for Imperial forces. In this case, they may be called upon to assist the Imperial Army's ground forces in setting up a defensive perimeter, conducting patrols, and engaging in direct combat with enemy forces.
