About me

I am a nature lover and passionate birdwatcher. 

Living beings have captured my attention for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to understand how living beings interact, how they communicate, and basically how they live their lives. Thus, I believe that the path of life has led me to study biology and, finally, the behavior of birds, hiking across Latin America and looking out for birds. 

My passion lies in the Andean birds, in the Ecotone areas, between the Dry Chaco and the Yungas (native environments of Argentina), or between the Andes and the Amazon. 

For the last 10 years and up to the present, I have been lucky enough to receive a scholarship from the government of Argentina to do research and obtain my PhD and postdoctoral studies. My research line is directly related to my curiosity about how living beings live their lives and interact between them. Summarizing, my favourite topic is the positive interactions between living beings, especially those that occur in the associations known as mixed-species flocks of birds. 

I decided that understanding how different species of birds unite to obtain benefits was the first step to achieving humanity's utopia (and hopefully soon a reality): relating positively with other species. 

My tireless curiosity has also led me down different paths, from music, gymnastics, programming, and languages to everything that keeps my mind motivated and helps me understand the world in which I inhabit. 

Soy una amante de la naturaleza y una apasionada observadora de aves.

Los seres vivos han captado mi atención desde que puedo recordar. Siempre quise entender cómo interactúan los seres vivos, cómo se comunican y, básicamente, cómo viven sus vidas. Así, creo que el camino de la vida me ha llevado a estudiar biología y finalmente el comportamiento de las aves, recorriendo Latinoamérica a pie, auto o bote, en busca de pájaros. 

Mi pasión tiene sus bases en las aves andinas, en las zonas de Ecotono, entre el Chaco Seco y las Yungas (ambientes nativos de Argentina) o entre los Andes y la Amazonia. 

Durante los últimos 10 años y hasta el presente, tuve la suerte de recibir una beca del gobierno de Argentina para investigar, obteniendo mi doctorado y estudios postdoctorales. Mi línea de investigación está directamente relacionada con mi curiosidad de antaño sobre cómo los seres vivos viven sus vidas e interactúan entre ellos. Resumiendo, mi tema favorito son las interacciones positivas entre seres vivos, especialemnte las interacciones que ocurren en las asociaciones conocidas como bandadas mixta de aves. 

Decidí que entender cómo las distintas especies de aves se unen para obtener beneficios era el primer paso para alcanzar la utopía de la humanidad (y espero que pronto sea una realidad): relacionarse positivamente con otras especies. 

Creo que mi incansable curiosidad me ha llevado por diferentes caminos, desde la música, la gimnasia artistica, la programación y los idiomas, hasta todo aquello que mantiene mi mente motivada y me ayuda a comprender el mundo en el que habito.
