March 2024: The workshop titled "AI-Based Estimation and Control of Wearable Robotic Systems for Enhancing Human Mobility" has been accepted at the 10th IEEE RAS/EMBS International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (BioRob 2024).
March 2024: The International Journal of Robotics Research (IJRR) has officially a Special Issue focusing on 'Foundation Models and Neural-Symbolic AI for Robotics' with Dr. Gionfrida serving as one of the guest editors.
February 2024: The proposal "Affordable myoelectric hand prosthetic to improve user experiences and reduce abandonment rates" has been funded by the EPSRC Impact Accelerator Award.
January 2024: The workshop titled "Supervised Autonomy: how to Shape human-robot Interaction from the Body to the Brain" was accepted at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2024.
December 2023: Welcome Shirui (Eric) Lyu, a new PhD student in VHR Lab working on the role of vision in realistic hand models, co-supervised with Dr. Vittorio Caggiano.
December 2023: Dr. Gionfrida has received the prestigious Italy Made Me award at the Embassy of Italy in London, funded by Pirelli.
December 2023: Dr Gionfrida has extended an invitation to Dr. Maurice Fallon from the Dynamic Robot Systems Group at the University of Oxford.
December 2023: Dr. Gionfrida has extended an invitation to Dr. Antonia Creswell ex-research Scientist at Deep Mind and co-founder of BobbyChat a workplace wellbeing app.
November 2023: Dr. Gionfrida has extended an invitation to Abdoul Amadou, who delivered a talk on his work on deep learning and computer vision for healthcare at Siemens Healthineers.
November 2023: Dr. Gionfrida has extended an invitation to Dr. Tianhing Dai, who delivered a talk on his work on computer vision and reinforcement learning as a new Lecturer in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen.
