Dr Letizia Gionfrida, B.Eng., M.Eng., Ph.D

Principal Investigator

Letizia is an Assistant Professor (UK Lecturer) in the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Mathematical and Engineering Sciences, King's College London. She completed her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, on hand pose estimation from monocular cameras. She then moved to the United States to work as a postdoctoral fellow at the Biorobotics Lab at Harvard University on computer vision for wearable robotics. In 2023 she joined King's College London as a Lecturer in Computer Vision, where she leads the Vision in Human Robotics Lab.

Defne Eken, B.Eng., M.Eng.

Research Assistant

Defne is a research assistant working on the project titled "Affordable myoelectric hand prosthetic to improve user experiences and reduce abandonment rates". She is implementing vision-based control strategies for prosthetic hands using traditional and event cameras.  She received a B.Sc. from UCL in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and an MRes in Bioengineering from Imperial College London.
