Our Parent-Teacher Group is comprised of dedicated moms and dads working together to create a great middle school experience for our 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade kids!
Our Parent-Teacher Group is comprised of dedicated moms and dads working together to create a great middle school experience for our 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade kids!
Our 2025-26 PTG Board consists of representatives with children who attended each of Gillette's feeder elementary schools - Cicero, Lakeshore, Bear Road, and Smith Road.

GILLETTE BUILDING PLANNING TEAM (BPT)
• DAC (District Advisory Council) is the group responsible for leading long range planning for the District. Membership is determined by the Teachers’ Contract and includes representatives from the following groups: parents, teachers, administrators, students, and the Board of Education. These are NOT open meetings and membership is agreed upon by the NSEA President and District Superintendent - meetings are typically 2-3 times per year. The DAC's current focus is aligning goals with Vision 2020.
• SAC (Superintendent's Advisory Council) serves as a link between the Superintendent and the community as a whole. The SAC committee consists of one representative from each of the District’s buildings, and community members and business owners such as the Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens, and legislators and officers from the Towns of Cicero and Clay. Much of the same information shared with PAC is shared with this group and input/feedback is given on important issues such as Vision 2020 and the budget.
• PAC (Parents Advisory Council) was formed to encourage communication between parents of the North Syracuse Central School District and District-level administration. The PAC addresses all levels of education from elementary to high school. The meetings consist of a roundtable discussion of current issues in the District, dissemination of information and events to the group, followed by time to discuss those issues with the District Superintendent. Each building in the district should have a representative for the Parent Advisory Council, but all parents in the district are invited and welcome to attend.
• The Gillette BPT (Building Planning Team) is part of the New York State-mandated shared decision-making policy agreement for involvement in school planning and decision making. This committee sets educational goals for each school/building and formulates plans to achieve those goals. Meetings are typically held bi-monthly.
