Minneola Cotton Mill

Minneola Cotton Mill

106 N. Railroad Ave.

Berry Davidson built this first mill in Gibsonville in 1886 when he constructed the steam-powered Minneola Cotton Mill here for himself and his nephew, Joseph A. Davidson. They moved the machinery from the Curtis Plaid Mill on Rock Creek in Guilford County to Minneola and began to weave plaids there on March 1, 1886. He later sold it to the Cone Export and Commission Company of Greensboro in 1892. Mill operations ceased in the 1980’s and it is now light industrial mixed use.
