Goal: Students will discover multiple ways to model, view and describe common "real world" phenomena. They will link previous linear methods to graph lines, calculate values, and describe these phenomena in the form of: y = mx + b. Students will collaborate to complete their discovery activities at various rotating stations. Students will know, and describe what a Mark Up, Discount, Sales Tax, and Tip are, as well as calculate them for various situations given various percentages. (3 classes: Activity 1 class; Assignment/Practice 1 class; Assessment 1 class)
