Ateneo de Naga was established from the vision of Bishop Pedro P. Santos of Caceres on 1939. He was concerned about the lack of Catholic schools in the town. Gladly, good news came in 1940 when Fr. Francis Burns, SJ arrived in Naga to lead the school that would later develop into Ateneo de Naga. The construction of the school was completed in 1941. This school has survived a lot of obstacles, World War II, being closed, covid-19, also climate and geographical issues. Now, Ateneo de Naga have two branches which are Bagumbayan and Pacol. It provides several education levels: pre-school, grade school, junior high school, senior high school, college, graduate school, and law school.
