Actors' Performance

Do you know that feeling when you just feel like you yourself is in a certain movie? You don't have to wonder what a character is feeling because you can feel it too. They don't have to even say anything because just by looking at their facial expressions, you can see the emotions that they are trying to show.

One of the things I adore about this film is the powerful performance shown by the actors. It is kind of scary how ridiculously well they can act as if they are really going through what their character is facing. Nonetheless, that is what makes this film worth watching.

From this clip, we can see that Chris, the main character played by Daniel Kaluuya, did a great job in expressing his emotions. As he notices something weird about the other guy, he does not mention it, but instead shows it on his face. We can clearly tell that Chris is confused, and became speechless as he did not utter a word.

In addition, LaKeith Stanfield's performance also did not disappoint. As a viewer, who wouldn't be weirded out by how fake his smile looked? If I were in Chris's place, his reaction would be my exact reaction too. This is because his character looks as if he was smiling and talking on behalf of another person, and that was exactly what LaKeith Stanfield was trying to show viewers.

Betty Gabriel did an excellent job in playing her part as Georgina, or Gina for short. This is my favourite scene of the movie because it captivates me how this scene is just so well done. In this scene, Gina intends to apologise for touching Chris's belongings without his permission. However, as they continue to converse, Gina suddenly seems so sad, yet is laughing at the same time. Betty's ability to laugh and cry at the same time is one of the major reasons why this scene is so creepy and alluring to watch. From her facial expressions in this scene, I can see that she is trying to tell something, but is obstructed from doing so. The fact that she can cry and smile while showing a fierce internal fight between the two makes her a very good actress.

Once again, LaKeith Stanfield's character as Andre Logan King did not disappoint. During this scene, Chris is attacked with a racist question. Upon seeing Andre passing by, he then passed the question to Andre. As he listened to the first few words of Andre's answer, he wanted to record him. However, he made a mistake by turning on the flash. After that, LaKeith Stanfield proceeds to leave the audience wondering what just happened. After accidentally turning on the flash, Andre suddenly looked sorrowful and his nose bled. He then shouted at Chris to get out. When I watched this scene for the first time, I was clueless. His acting was very good to the point where I became immersed and scared although I was not physically in the scene. I can see that LaKeith gave his all for this scene.

All in all, the actors' performance in this film was what made me feel connected to it. The director did a great job in casting all actors for Get Out. Their facial expressions were on point and they were very immersed in their characters.
