On 8 August 2025, the students of SMK Taman Setiawangsa took part in an engaging outdoor activity titled “Spot the No-No! – School Improvement Hunt.” The activity was designed to nurture students’ sense of responsibility towards their school environment while encouraging teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Students were divided into groups and assigned different school areas such as the canteen, library, field, toilets, prayer room, and classrooms.
Each group observed their assigned location, identified inappropriate practices or problems (“No-No’s”), and suggested practical solutions for improvement.
Using digital tools such as cameras, Google Slides, and worksheets, students prepared short presentations showcasing their findings.
Presentations included photos, a list of problems, and suggestions such as placing more rubbish bins, repairing equipment, or running awareness campaigns.
Students successfully identified common issues around the school and demonstrated critical thinking in proposing realistic solutions.
The activity enhanced students’ collaboration and communication skills as they worked together to present their findings.
More importantly, it instilled a stronger sense of ownership and responsibility among students to maintain a clean, safe, and positive school environment.
This activity served as a meaningful way to combine outdoor learning with digital skills while promoting school improvement in a fun and constructive manner.

Topic : Write A review
As part of the English Language lesson on “Writing a Review,” students were tasked with reviewing a fitness equipment of their choice. The activity integrated digital tools, in line with the school’s BYODS programme, to enhance creativity and communication skills.
Students researched and selected one type of fitness equipment.
They wrote their review following the proper layout of a review (introduction, description, opinion, recommendation).
Instead of writing on paper, students adapted their reviews into Google Sites or Canva, combining visuals, text, and creative design.
Each group presented their digital product to the class, explaining their review and highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen equipment.
Outcomes
Students successfully applied their writing skills in a digital format, demonstrating the ability to adapt academic tasks into creative presentations.
The activity encouraged critical thinking, as students had to evaluate the usefulness and practicality of fitness equipment.
Presentation sessions improved students’ confidence and communication in English.
Integration of technology made the lesson more engaging and aligned with 21st-century learning goals.
