This summer house, known as the Beacon, has been an exciting and interesting project this year. Now my office and safe space to work from on this coaching journey. I wouldn’t be on this journey if it wasn’t for my best friend, my Mum. She is my inspiration and purpose for being here. My inner purpose and knowing that this is something I want to do from my heart. An amazing way to honour Mum and make her proud and help others in the process.
This office space is special to me on so many levels, firstly because it’s in my childhood home (a home they filled with love for many many years), secondly because Mum always wanted a space, a summer house, she could sit in and enjoy the garden. Now I have this space for the both of us, I have created it for myself and Mum as much as possible, with thanks to my husband Andy & father-in-law Irwin for doing all the hard work and my daughter Ellie for putting together my desk. Every detail inside is filled with love and intention. Such as the colour, Elderflower, a favourite drink of Mums. It is filled with photos and memorabilia of Mums, and not forgetting her little 'Tigger' bear.
So why is it called the Beacon, it is a beacon of light, guiding me in a similar way the lighthouse does in the night or during a storm. A lighthouse helps guide our ships, making it through the darkness. It makes it safe to travel, my office is like a lighthouse to me and I am like a lighthouse to you, it is a safe space where I can come and guide you on your journey, a private safe space, shining a light for me and you along the way.
Mum was and always will be my beacon of light. Little did I realise at the time, that a little beacon of light was added to a special tattoo someone designed for me while I was caring for mum in her last few months. My beacon is always there.
