Zoe Soltanmammedova, GEAFCS President
For this year's Presidential Philanthropy Project, Zoe Soltanmammedova, GEAFCS President, has selected Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Augusta.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. By offering a home-away-from-home for families with hospitalized children, RMHC helps ease the emotional and financial burdens that often accompany medical treatment, allowing families to focus on what matters most—the health and well-being of their child.
As Family and Consumer Sciences professionals, supporting families during times of need aligns closely with our mission of improving quality of life through education, service, and community engagement. Through this year's philanthropy project, GEAFCS members will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in two ways.
Family Table Service Project:
As part of our Annual Conference In-Depth Session, GEAFCS members will have the opportunity to participate in the Family Table program at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta.
The Family Table program provides families with healthy, nutritious meals that help keep them strong while they focus on supporting their child receiving medical care. The program relies on volunteers and community donors to provide meals and stock the pantry with healthy food items, serving approximately 40–50 individuals each day and nearly 17,000 meals annually.
As Family and Consumer Sciences professionals, our work centers on strengthening individuals and families through nutrition, wellness, and resource management. The Family Table program provides a meaningful opportunity to put those values into action by preparing and serving nutritious meals for families during a time of critical need.
Wish List Drive
In addition to the Family Table service project, GEAFCS members can support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta by donating items from the RMHC Wish List. These donations help ensure that families staying at the House have access to essential household items, personal care products, snacks, and other necessities that provide comfort and support during their child's medical journey.
There are two ways to contribute to the Wish List Drive:
Purchase items from the RMHC Augusta Wish List below and bring them to the GEAFCS Annual Conference.
Purchase items from RMHC Augusta's Amazon Wish List Items purchased through the Amazon Wish List can be shipped to your home and brought to the conference.
All donated items collected during the conference will be presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta on behalf of GEAFCS.
Together, we can provide comfort, nourishment, and support to families when they need it most. Thank you for helping GEAFCS make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta.
