The institution consists of a play ground area of 794 square meters for various out door games like Kabaddi ,Kho-Kho , Volley ball , Shuttle and open air YOGA center and open air auditorium with dimensions 15mx 25m for conducting cultural activities and any other public addressing seminars . The students are constantly trained in various sports and games mentioned above and indoor games like chess and carrom by the women physical director and got prizes periodically at Cluster, University, State, and national level competitions.

The college also conducted University Inter college games competitions , cluster level Yuvatharangam (games and sports and cultural) competitions in the last five year in addition to NSS and annual day sports and games competitions every year.The College conducts International Yoga day , National Sports Day and college sports- annual day every year. The Department of Physical Education organised YOGA certificate course since last four years.


The literary & cultural committees of this institution organize various events to extract creative, innovative , critical thinking and communication skills of students. The students council (CRs &CC and EC members of each mentor-mentee group ) with literary and cultural committees takes an active role while conducting the events like classical music & folk music and light music, instrumental music, classical and folk dances, skits, poster presentations, literacy events like poetry writing,perception-presentation , speed reading ,drawing, essay writing, elocution, debate and Quiz at collge level,cluster level including with Yuvatharanam- CCE competitions Our students participated actively and bagged prizes at University, State and national Level. The students are also trained in traditional local art forms like “Kolatam”, and Rangoli etc.The Institution conducted cluser level Yuvatarangam 2019-2020 competitions which is organised by the Commissionarate of Collegiate Education ,Telangana, to promote creative and innovative inner skills of the students.Our students bagged prizes in Yuvatarangam Competitions (Literary, Cultural & Sports events ) at cluster level,district level and state level in the last five years and got many prizes.In addition to that The college Magagine committee encourage and extract literary skills like essay writing, poetry wrting , funny writing and other mathematical logics.

4.1.1 The Institution has adequate infrastructure and physical facilities for teaching- learning. viz., classrooms, laboratories, computing equipment etc. (5)

The institution, Government Degree college for Women's ,Nalgonda established in............ which is spread in about 1 acre 12 guntas with a built up area of 3912.29 sq.metre with four blocks such as A Block , B Block , Administration Block(C) and RUSA block (D) consisting of totally 54 rooms. Of these 36 rooms ( 17 class rooms + 9 science labs+1 virtual class + 1 TSAT + 3 computer science labs +1 TSKC lab + 4 library rooms) are used for Teaching and Learning purposes. In remaining 18 rooms, 9 staff rooms+1 BRAOU+1 auditorium hall +1 principal chamber +4 office room +1 women's waiting room+1 NSS room.

The ground floor of the administration Block comprises the Principal's chamber and the administrative office , social sciences cum languages staff room , women’s waiting room. Its first Floor accommodates well furnished Library and Information Resource center with one reference reading cum digital library , one daily news paper cum periodicals reading room and books circulation room along with department of library.

The block A accommodate two B.Sc. computer science labs, Examination branch , TSAT Room, Department of Physical education and TSKC lab cum seminar hall along with Skill development and Placement Cell. And also there are three teaching class rooms in the ground floor . The first floor consists of Department of Mathematics, Computer Lab with ICT facility and five teaching class rooms. The second floor accommodate Commerce department, B.com Computer lab with ICT facility and six teaching class rooms.


The Block B consists of five science labs such as Physics Department with two labs, Chemistry Department with two labs along with one weighing room, in the ground floor .The first floor consists of Botany Department, Zoology Department and Micro-biology Department each with one lab along with 2 museums for Botany and Zoology departments. These departments are well equipped and updated as per CBCS practical curriculum pattern .

The RUSA Block consists of one Virtual class room and three teaching class rooms. In addition to that there are 2 shed rooms are using as teaching class rooms due to heavy strength.

The institution has 17 class rooms out of which 15 class rooms including virtual class are provided with LCD facility to enrich the teaching learning process .

The institution has solar roof auditorium(21.16feet x 61.16 feet) and also an open air auditorium with area about 20m X 60 m to conduct meetings, college functions , prayers , meditation , yoga classes , cultural event competitions and various massive public addressing programmes. A seminar hall is now under the construction work with MP LADS funds on the first floor of the A block,which will be useful for conducting Cultural event celebrations, Workshops and Seminars and conferences etc.

Both B.Sc computer Science and Bcom computer application departments consisting 140 computers equipped with INTERNET Wi-Fi LAN connection and fulfils the needs of students curricular aspects. Internet resource is available for each department for the faculty and TSKC lab and digital library fulfils the needs of the students and faculty as a knowledge centre.


The library and Information Resource center of the institution has a digital library with 14 computers, 8939 text books, 10661 reference books , N –list e –books , 231 journals , N -list open access e-journals , 12 CD and Videos, and 49 magazines. The library is fully automated with 2.0 soul software with Inflibnet facility and offers Internet access for digital resources. The library also has books for competitive exams and offers reading and reference facility as a source of knowledge to the students as well as to the teaching staff.


TSKC lab is used not only for developing computer skills but also for providing placements and fulfils the needs of language learners to improve speaking , reading and writing skills effectively

  • TSAT-NIPUNA classes delivered by the subject experts telecast in well equipped TSAT room as per the schedule framed by CCE -Telangana for the purpose of additional E-learning. In addition to that the through the virtual class ,we are providing eminent lectures of various colleges and universities of the state. Similarly , the faculty of this college also delivering lectures for the students of other colleges of various universities of the state.

  • There are Health Centre and RO filtered water system in addition to its own ground water resource and separate washrooms for men and women in the campus and fulfils the important minimum needs of both students and staff.

College Library in Government Degree College for Women has a long history of Years in parallel with the history of the college which was established in the year 1977 with the effects and good wishes of elders and the elite of that the town visualizing the great need of it for promoting womens education in Nalgonda town. This Library is in the first floor of College Administrative Building, with Plinth area of 2500 sft has rich collection of 14,335 books covering manifold areas of knowledge. It offers variety of services to the user in SOUL SOFTWARE Automated environment. This Library building is divided into two different service Blocks with s70 seating capacity and also fully furnished Digital library having 14 systems with Internet facility. Our College Library is known for its collection of rare and old edition books in the area of Telugu Literature, English Literature, Encyclopedias, Glossaries, Social Sciences and Commerce. Such books are exhibited during the National Library weeks celebrations, Telugu and Telangana Language Day celebrations, for motivating the students and staff to collect the such resources and preserve them.

4.4.2 There are established systems and procedures for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities - laboratory, library, sports complex, computers, classrooms etc. (10)

There are established procedures to maintain physical and academic support facilities towards Laboratory, Library, playgrounds, Computer,Classrooms since the establishment of college. These are constantly reviewed and monitored time to time based on the priority

and need of the students .Accordingly, the budget received under various heads like UGC and RUSA ,SPCIAL FEE FUND are allocated with the common resolution of finance committee and other committees like UGC , RUSA, purchase committee , furniture committee , sports committee , Audio-Visuals committee, IT and Internet committee and Library committee .

The maintenance , repairs and renovations required for the buildings , class rooms, science labs ,library , play grounds, green area , sports and computer labs are assessed by the finance and maintenance of infrastructure committee and the detailed report will be submitted to Principal & CPDC. The expenditure for repairs and renovations are met from the above mentioned heads and CPDC fund also.

The requirements of the Science labs and computer labs will be finalized by the purchase committee of the college the and the purchases will take place normally through Government Firms and if they cannot provide the required products, purchases are done through quotation process as per norms, i.e, by selecting lowest quotations from the bidder and the amount will be met from various sources of funding agencies like UGC grants ,RUSA funds, State government (CCE)budget, special fee .

The stock verification Committees verify and cross check the stock lists as per the stock registers duly maintained by all the departments at the end of every academic year. After verification of the consumable & non consumable materials , items will be listed out for condemnation & repair. Condemned items, non working as well as damaged computers and electronic materials listed as e-waste will be auctioned after approved by the governing body and Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Telangana.



The College has power management committee to looks after uninterrupted power supply and maintenance of electrical assets. The maintenance of equipment like, General Lighting, Power Distribution System, Biometric Systems, CC cameras etc. are undertaken as per their preventive maintenance schedules, guidelines given by the equipment supplier.


Maintenance of Services: The College provides various services / facilities to the students, faculty and staff and are maintained by respective service providers as per contract. Teaching aids such as LCD Projectors, PA Systems, Laptops, Desktops, Printers, and Wi-Fi etc. Are maintained by IT Helpdesk department.

LIBRARY:

The maintenance of Library has been done with the funds allotted by the Government under different schemes. University Grands Commission also supports Financially to collect Books for the Library. The Academic Books are often provided by the State Government through “Telugu Academy”. When the Syllabus is modified new Books with the modified Syllabus are being provided as Academic support from the State Government.

SPORTS COMPLEX:

The finance committee gives utmost importance every year to allocate funds towards for purchasing sports and games material for both Outdoor games and Indoor games .There is enough space for indoor games like Carroms & Chess. The Physical education Department conducts NSS sports and games celebrations and annual sports day celebrations with sufficient allocated funds. The play fields are maintain by the Financial Support of special fee fund. The University Grants Commission also supports some funds to develop Sports infrastructure in the College.


COMPUTERS:


Apart from The B.Sc Computer Science, B.Com Computers lab , Library, TSKC Labs with total Number of computers 130 Computers, all the departments including administrative office in the College have been provided with the Systems , printers cum scanners along with Internet Facility.The maintenance of all the Computer Systems is usually met with the funds available in the College.


CLASS ROOMS:

Though the Campus doesn’t have sufficient number of classrooms for both Science and Arts UG courses, the available accommodation is reasonably comfortable since the college is running in shift system with science stream in morning session from and Arts stream in afternoon session

All (19 ) classrooms are equipped with sufficient furniture, lights and fans. Of these 16 class rooms and 3 computer labs are having overhead projectors connected to system with in the class rooms and effectively implementing ICT enabled teaching. A separate equipped TSAT room meant for TSAT NIPUNA –CCE classes and one Virtual class room connected with Internet is available for online Teaching/learning.
