हमारा शासकीय महाविद्यालय बुन्देलखंड के ऐसे क्षेत्र में स्थित है,जहाॅं जीवन के संसाधनों का अभाव सदियों से विद्ययमान है। गरीबी, बेरोजगारी इस क्षेत्र में व्याप्त है। विषम परिस्थितयों में उच्च शिक्षा को सुलभ कराना इस महाविद्यालय की स्थापना का प्रमुख उद्वेष्य रहा है। 5 सितम्बर 1982 में स्थापित इस महाविद्यालय का नाम परिवर्तन श्री राघवेन्द्र सिंह हजारी शासकीय स्नातक महावि. हटा म.प्र. शासन के अनुसार दिनाॅंक 27.08.97 को किया गया। इस महावि.में प्रारंभ से तीनों संकाय क्रमशः कला, वाणिज्य एवं विज्ञान खोले गये। प्रारंभ में यह महाविद्यालय हायरसेकेंडरी स्कूल के हाॅस्टल में खोला गया । 5 सितम्बर 1994 में यह महाविद्यालय स्वयं के भवन में प्रारंभ हुआ। यह भवन 15 एकड़ शासकीय भूमि में हटा रजपुरा मार्ग पर स्थित है। 

महाविद्यालय में छात्रों को अध्ययन हेतु सुविधा प्रदान करने के लिये पुस्तकालय से पुस्तको को प्रदाय किया जाता है । महाविद्यालय में विज्ञान संकाय की लगभग 4500 वाणिज्य, संकाय की 3500 एवं कला संकाय की 5500 पुस्तके पाठ्यक्रम के अनुसार उपलब्ध है । इसके अलाबा सामान्य ज्ञान , खेल एवं विविध विषयो से जुडी हुई लगभग 1000 पुस्तके उपलब्ध है । बदलते हुए पाठ्यक्रम के कारण जनभागीदारी समिति से 100000/- रूपयों की एवं छात्रों को प्रतियोगिता परीक्षाओं में भाग लेने के लिये 35000/- रूपये की पुस्तको का क्रय सत्र 2007 -08 में किया गया । स्ववित्तीय योजना के तहत् एम0ए0 राजनीति एवं एम0काम0 की कक्षाओं के प्रारंभ होने के कारण संबंधित पुस्तको का क्रय जनभागीदारी समिति के माध्यम से किया गया।छात्रों को प्रतियोगिता परीक्षाओं हेतु,नवीनतम जानकारी हेतु एवं जागरूक नागरिक बनाने के उद्देश्य को लेकर पुस्तकालय में विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं का साहित्य पत्रिकायें एवं समाचार पत्र छात्र-छात्राओं के अध्ययन हेतु उपलब्ध रहते है ।स्थानीय साहित्यकार डाॅं लक्ष्मीप्रसाद रमा द्वारा लिखित एवं अध्ययन किया गया साहित्य जो कि पुस्तकालय को दान स्वरूप प्राप्त हुआ है वह भी अध्ययन हेतु पुस्तकालय में उपलब्ध है । Shri Raghvendra Singh Hazari Government Degree College, Hatta (Dist. Damoh) was popularly known as Shri R.S. Hazari Govt. Degree College, Hatta or Govt. College, Hatta was established on 4th July 1982 and managed by Janbhagidari Samiti (JBS). It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress. The college was affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 23rd May 1985 & 12(B) on 7th September 2002 under Act, 1956. Now it is affiliated to MCBU.
