Abstract Expression & Emphasis/LINE
2ND-4TH, 5TH GR 8TH PER.
PROJECT DETAILS: Students learned about the Abstract Expressionism movement and the Black American artist Norman Lewis. They were inspired by his painting "Exodus" above. Afterwards they listened to music by Black Americans and created lines to the beat and feeling of the music. Finally, they chose their favorite shape to emphasize and and the result was an abstract expressionism art piece of their own!
