Questions to ask if you're meeting with a new vendor or getting updates from an existing one.

General:

1. What kind of things is your team good at and what kinds of things would you like to improve on?
2. What kind of things have you struggled with in the past with clients?
3. What is your standard day rate?
4. What is your internal art review process like?
5. What tracking software have you guys used with Clients? Jira/Shotgun?
6. What do you use for internal tracking?
7. English speaking producers/artists?
8. How big is your current team?
9. What's the makeup of your team? (production/concept/character/weapon/prop/animators)
10. Where is your office located? Multiple studios/locations?
11. Are you planning on staying about the same size or growing
12. What is your growth plan? (Where will you find your people?)
13. What has your turnover been like in the last year?
14. When people leave your studio where do they go to? Competing studios in town? Or out of the country for bigger opportunities?
15. Make sure to update your ArtStation page and please send me an offline portfolio to show to Art Directors

During the portfolio review:

1. How long did this asset take? You're looking for about how many man days of effort. To get a judge of how fast they can produce things.
2. What were you provided to start production this asset?
